The Asheville Art Museum invites you to visit for free on Saturday, March 15, 2025 between noon–5pm! Come celebrate the exhibition Asheville Strong: Celebrating Art and Community After Hurricane Helene with an afternoon of creativity and community engagement.

Tree Giveaway | Asheville GreenWorks, an environmental nonprofit focused on climate equity, will be giving away free native trees as part of the Reforest Asheville Initiative. This tree distribution is made possible through funding from the Arbor Day Foundation and support from donor International Paper. Asheville GreenWorks staff will be present to share their mission and provide education on the importance of trees, along with guidance on proper planting and care.

Silkscreen Poster Makerspace | Led by Asheville-based printmaker JD de Wit, this drop-in art activity will allow you to make an Asheville Strong silkscreen poster that you can embellish with other materials. All ages and abilities are welcome (children must be accompanied by an adult).

Music | Enjoy an afternoon of music on the Museum’s Plaza featuring DJ Phantom Pantone.
1–1:30pm, 2–2:30pm, 3–3:30pm, and 4–4:30pm
Express Tours: Asheville Strong | Discover featured artworks on view in Asheville Strong during this 30-minute Express Tour led by one of the Museum’s volunteer educators. Each tour will be accompanied by 1-2 of the exhibition artists, who will talk about their artwork as part of the tour.
1:45–2pm, 2:45–3pm, and 3:45–4pm
Spotlight Talk: Edward Steichen’s mural In Exaltation of Flowers | Learn more about an artwork featured in the Flora Symbolica exhibition during these bite-sized conversations with Museum volunteer educators.
1:30–4pm
Music | Join us for live music on the rooftop with Tim McWilliams.
Community events are offered during the year in conjunction with the Museum's Collection, exhibitions, and other special events. Activities may include performances, guided tours, demonstrations, or hands-on studio projects. Community events are open to all ages and abilities; no reservations required.
