Monkeys, Tigers, and Bears. Oh, My. Students will learn about a variety of artists and animals creating various collage elements, drawing, and painting. From Rousseau’s tropical tigers to Matisse’s Goldfish, students will embark on a wild adventure into the world of animal collage.
Born and raised in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains, Chad has been teaching art since 2012. He graduated from Western Carolina University with a BS. of Ed. in Art, a BS. of Ed in Elementary Education, and a BFA in Photography. He loves teaching art and believes that art is an essential part of every child’s overall education. Chad believes that the arts are interconnected to math, science, language arts, social studies, and basically all areas of study, thus he practices an integrative approach to teaching.

Join us at the Museum for Summer Art Camp! Offered to rising K–12th grade students. All classes are age appropriate. Enrollment is limited, and registration is required. Registration includes Museum admission for Campers and all materials necessary for each class. Classes are offered weekly June 16–August 11, 2025. Morning (9am–noon) and Afternoon (1–4pm) sessions are offered each week of camp. Students may sign up for both Morning and Afternoon and stay for both sessions as an All Day Camper. Campers who stay All Day will break for a supervised lunch from noon-1pm.Financial Aid applications for Summer Art Camp 2025 scholarships are closed.
The Museum is committed to making our programs accessible to everyone, regardless of economic means. With support from the Walnut Cove Members Association, we are able to provide a limited amount of financial aid to help students who could not otherwise afford to enroll in our programs.
