I’ve always dreamed of visiting France, particularly for its rich history and even better food. Annie Cardin’s work Pont d’Asniero illustrates the impeccable nature of the country perfectly. The simplistically beautiful illustration on the clean background is made even more stunning by the green and orange hues she used. This dreamy illustration is peppered with people wandering aside a river, no doubt enjoying the weather and relaxing.
Cardin knew France well, as she was born in Paris in 1938. Her paintings relay the delightful nature this country possesses. She married Claude Bogratchew and had her artwork displayed in solo shows throughout Europe. Her various art showings began in 1960 at the Gallery Perrière, and her worksare still valued today.
I hope to someday experience the country that Cardin portrayed and enjoy the many wonders of the area. I might even follow in her footsteps, chasing the beauty of France and documenting it along the way.
